Israeli Occupation Seizes 694 Dunums of Land in Qalqilya and Salfit

Qalqilya: Israeli occupation authorities seized 694 dunums of land belonging to the towns of Kafr Thulth in Qalqilya Governorate, and Deir Istiya and Biddya in Salfit.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the head of the Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission, Minister Mu'ayyad Shaaban, stated that the occupation has labeled the seized land as 'state land.' He pointed out that this act represents a significant escalation in land seizure policies and is part of a larger systematic framework aimed at forcibly re-engineering Palestinian geography through colonial legal tools.

Shaaban elaborated that the seizure is part of a plan to establish a new colonial bloc east of Qalqilya, specifically south of the Karnei Shomron illegal colony. This declaration is carried out through military orders and unilateral administrative measures that ignore Palestinian property rights and violate international humanitarian law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits an occupying power from seizing land or altering its legal status.

He emphasized that the policy of declaring 'state land' is a central instrument in the Israeli colonial project, designed to strip Palestinians of their land ownership and prepare the land for colonial expansion, contributing to the annexation of Palestinian land.

Shaaban also highlighted that this announcement comes at a politically critical time, as legislation, structural plans, seizure decisions, and colonial tenders converge to create an integrated system aimed at enforcing permanent control over the occupied territories.

The Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission is actively engaging with this issue on legal and field levels, supporting affected citizens, and pursuing legal measures to counter these plans. They are also working to expose these policies to the international community and relevant UN institutions.

Shaaban concluded by asserting that Palestinian land is an inherent right of the people living under occupation and that attempts to legitimize land seizure through declarations and military orders do not change the reality of organized colonization, which requires a proactive international response beyond silence and verbal condemnation.
