Israeli Knesset Passes Controversial Bill to Deport Families of Arab Attackers to Gaza.

Jerusalem: Israel's Knesset approved a bill on Thursday that allows for the deportation of families of Arab attackers to Gaza or another designated location based on specific circumstances. This legislative decision, passed during the second and third readings, has sparked significant attention and debate. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the bill grants the Israeli Minister of Interior the authority to deport the families of individuals who have carried out attacks. This action is contingent upon proof that the families had prior knowledge of the attack and failed to take necessary measures to prevent it. The bill outlines that deportation outside of Israel and the territories occupied in 1967 will last for seven years for citizens of Israel and ten years for residents of the territories occupied in 1967. The legislation specifically targets Palestinians residing in the 1948 territories and Jerusalemites. It also empowers the occupation police with the authority to execute the dep ortations, which includes the right to enter any location and apply necessary force to remove individuals. On October 29, the Knesset Committee had already given its approval to the laws that facilitate the deportation of families of "operation perpetrators" and the prohibition of establishing diplomatic missions in Jerusalem. These laws were then forwarded to the General Assembly for voting in the second and third readings. This law is part of a series of controversial measures recently passed by the right-wing-dominated Knesset. Among these is a recent ban on the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in areas that Israel asserts are within its sovereignty.
