Israeli troops withdrew today from the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, after a raid that began yesterday, resulting in significant casualties and widespread destruction. This incident is part of an ongoing Israeli campaign of ethnic cleansing aimed at emptying the North Gaza province of its Palestinian population, which has been going on for 22 days. Eyewitnesses reported extensive damage to homes and properties surrounding the hospital, with many buildings destroyed or set ablaze during the military's incursion. Inside the hospital, patients, the wounded, and displaced individuals endured two days without access to medicine, food, or water while the Israeli forces occupied the facility. Witnesses recounted how the Israeli military demolished the walls of Kamal Adwan Hospital and surrounding tents for displaced persons before launching an attack that included firing shells into the hospital grounds and targeting the main oxygen supply station, rendering it inoperable. Essent ial medical supplies were destroyed, hindering efforts to save the injured. During the assault, the Israeli forces detained male medical staff, as well as patients and the wounded. Communication with medical teams inside the hospital was severed, and the World Health Organization has confirmed it lost contact with the facility. The military's incursion and bombardment continue across various areas of northern Gaza, coinciding with efforts by the Israeli occupation to forcibly evacuate residents from the region. On October 5, the Israeli military initiated unprecedented bombardments of the Jabalia refugee camp and surrounding areas, which were subsequently invaded the following day. To date, over 820 individuals have been reported killed due to the ongoing aggression in northern Gaza, where the population faces severe threats to their safety and basic human rights amidst what many observers have labeled an ethnic cleansing campaign.
