NABLUS: Israeli occupation forces have imposed restrictions on Palestinian farmers, barring those under the age of 40 from accessing their lands for olive picking in Khirbet Yanun, located south of Nablus. The move has raised concerns among local communities who rely heavily on olive harvesting as a source of income and tradition. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Rashid Marar, the head of the Yanun village council, reported that the occupation forces stormed the agricultural lands situated along the Awarta road near the illegal colony of Itamar. Despite having received coordination for four days, the young farmers were forced to vacate their lands and were prohibited from harvesting olives. Marar expressed grave concerns over the impact of this decision, highlighting that it poses a significant threat to this year's olive season. The ban on younger farmers is particularly problematic as the elderly alone cannot manage the harvest within the limited coordination period. The situati on underscores ongoing tensions and challenges faced by Palestinian agricultural communities under occupation.
