JERICHO: Israeli occupation forces renewed their military incursion of the city of Jericho and tightened their military measures at the checkpoints set up at its entrances, including the town of Al-Auja, for the third consecutive day. Local sources said that the occupation forces renewed their incursion of the city, raided several homes and subjected their residents to investigation and interrogation. The Israeli army continues to shut down the four main entrances leading to the city of Jericho with military checkpoints, denying access of Palestinian vehicles in and out of the city and threatening them with shooting. Occasionally, army units break into Jericho, mainly Aqbat Jabr refugee camp, and conduct searches. Restricting movement is one of the main tools that Israel employs to enforce its regime of occupation over the Palestinian population in the Occupied Territories, stressed the Israeli information center for human rights in occupied territories, B'Tselem.
