JERUSALEM: Israeli occupation forces Wednesday evening killed a Palestinian and injured another in the Shufat refugee camp, north of the occupied West Bank city of Jerusalem, according to local sources. They said that a special unit of the occupation forces barged their way into the camp to carry out a detention campaign, and following its detection, the unit fired barrages of live ammunition towards the residents, critically injuring Hani Majdi al-Kari by a live round in the chest and wounding another. Al-Kari, 16, succumbed to his critical injury shortly afterwards. The sources added that the occupation forces dispatched additional reinforcements to the camp, triggering confrontations, which resulted in the detention of five youths, including a journalist. Al-Kari's killing brings the Palestinian death toll due to the occupation forces and colonists' gunfire in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, since October 7, 2023 to 707, including 160 children, 10 women and nine elderlies.
