HEBRON: Israeli occupation forces tonight intensified their oppressive measures against citizens in the Old City of Hebron and the eastern neighborhoods, and placed barbed wire fencing around the homes of eight families in Jaber neighborhood east of the city, said local activist Aref Daraghmeh. The activist said Israeli occupation forces closed off the entrances to two houses in the Jaber neighborhood with barbed wire. The two houses are a home for eight families from the Jaber family. This measure effectively trapped these families inside their homes, preventing them from entering or leaving. He said that residents in the Old City of Hebron and areas to the east of the city have been subjected to escalated attacks by the occupation forces and colonists, particularly after October 7, 2023. Residents have been subjected to reprisals, detentions and attacks at checkpoints and throughout the area. Israeli forces impose an evening curfew in those areas, preventing residents from leaving their homes. They also restrict the movement of residents by setting out specific times for each neighborhood and only allowing residents to travel through designated military checkpoints during specific hours.
