Tulkarm: Israeli occupation forces have continued their military aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its surrounding areas for the 92nd consecutive day, with similar actions ongoing for 79 days in the Nur Shams camp.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, military reinforcements, including vehicles and infantry units, are continually dispatched to the city, its camps, and suburbs. This escalation is marked by the firing of live ammunition and sound bombs, coupled with raids and searches of homes and shops. These actions often result in the vandalization of properties and the interrogation, detention, or arrest of residents.
Recent developments saw occupation forces deploying around the Shuweika roundabout in the northern neighborhood, where they conducted raids and detained Bilal Abdul Aziz Nayfeh and Ayman Abu Samri after raiding the Al-Hafi building. Additionally, Israeli special forces entered the Artah suburb early this morning, positioning near the Fatima al-Zahra Mosque and launching a drone amid heavy gunfire, though no detentions or injuries were reported.
Checkpoints have been established on major streets, particularly on Nablus Street, severely restricting the movement of citizens and vehicles. Residents are subjected to searches, identity checks, and field interrogations. The Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps are experiencing a heavy military presence, with live ammunition and sound bombs frequently used. A tight siege has been imposed, with entrances blocked by earth mounds, leading to raids and vandalism of homes and the evacuation of remaining residents at gunpoint.
The occupation forces have also seized homes and buildings on Nablus Street and in the northern neighborhood, converting them into military barracks. Vehicles and bulldozers are stationed nearby as part of this ongoing aggression.
The escalation has resulted in the deaths of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Many others have been injured and detained. Over 4,200 families from the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, totaling more than 25,000 residents, along with hundreds from the city's northern and eastern neighborhoods, have been forcibly displaced. Their homes have been seized, with several converted into military barracks.
Infrastructure destruction is widespread, affecting homes, shops, and vehicles, many of which have been demolished, burned, vandalized, or looted. In the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps alone, 396 homes have been completely destroyed and 2,573 partially damaged, with entrances and alleys blocked by earth mounds.
