Post: Israeli Forces Detain Three Palestinians from Northern Jordan Valley

Tubas: Israeli occupation forces on Monday detained three Palestinians from the al-Burj area in the northern Jordan Valley.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Kamal Bani-Odeh, director of the Palestine Prisoner's Society Office in Tubas, reported that the occupation forces entered the community and detained three inhabitants shortly after Israeli colonists attacked local dwellings.

In the pre-dawn and morning hours of the same day, the occupation forces conducted multiple raids across the occupied West Bank, resulting in the detainment of at least 26 Palestinians. These operations are part of frequent raids carried out by the Israeli forces, who often invade Palestinian homes almost daily under the pretext of searching for 'wanted' individuals, leading to clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted at the military's discretion, without requiring a search warrant, under the broad arbitrary powers granted to Israeli military commanders. These commanders possess full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over the 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank, leaving the Palestinian population without any control over how this authority is exercised.

According to the latest figures from Addameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 9,250 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers. This includes 350 child prisoners and 49 female prisoners. Of these, approximately 3,368 Palestinians are held under 'administrative detention', a process that allows for detention without charge or trial based on undisclosed evidence, with intervals ranging from three to six months.

The mass arrest of Palestinians is a longstanding issue. Addameer's 2017 report indicated that over the past 50 years, more than 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned or detained by Israel, a figure now believed to be closer to 1 million. This statistic suggests that about 40% of Palestinian men and boys living under military occupation have been incarcerated, impacting nearly every Palestinian family with the imprisonment of at least one member.
