Israeli Forces Demolish Palestinian House in Far’un, Displacing Seven Residents

Tulkarm: Israeli occupation forces demolished a Palestinian home in the al-Gharasat area, southeast of the town of Far'un, south of Tulkarm, as reported by a local official. Ahmad Darwish, a member of the Far'un municipality, stated that they were unexpectedly confronted by Israeli forces and heavy bulldozers advancing toward the house.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the forces informed the homeowner, Samer Masoud Khalil, that he had to evacuate immediately, providing only a 30-minute notice. Residents quickly assisted Khalil in evacuating the premises. The bulldozers then proceeded to demolish the house, which was a single-story structure accommodating seven individuals. The house had been standing for over a decade, located about 100 meters from the apartheid wall built on the town's lands.

Darwish highlighted that Khalil had received a stop-work notice in 2016, along with other property owners in the vicinity. Legal actions were taken through representatives from the 1948 territories and the Palestinian Legal Aid Center in Jerusalem. Nonetheless, the demolition was carried out without any recent warning, with two bulldozers and Israeli vehicles overseeing the operation.

This incident marks the second demolition in the same area within a month. On March 10, a structure owned by Abdul Hamid Mustafa Shalabi, built in 1990, was also demolished by occupation authorities. Darwish remarked that these actions are part of a broader strategy to constrain Palestinians and alter the dynamics in regions adjacent to the apartheid wall.
