Israeli Forces Attack Peaceful Protest South of Hebron; Suffocation Cases and Detentions Reported

Ar-rihiya: Several Palestinian residents suffocated by tear gas fired by Israeli occupation forces during confrontations that erupted on Sunday in the village of Ar-Rihiya, south of Hebron, according to eyewitnesses. Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli soldiers attacked Palestinian landowners as they staged a peaceful protest denouncing the seizure of their lands by the occupation and its colonists in the Khillet al-Ma’aser area of the village, sparking confrontations.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Israeli forces attacked protesters with tear gas canisters, causing numerous cases of suffocation among them. Israeli forces also detained three citizens aged 52, 35, and 36 during the confrontations.

Colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, have recently installed 20 mobile homes in the area since the beginning of this month, seizing approximately 150 dunums of land. Additionally, a new colonial road has been constructed to connect this outpost with the nearby illegal Hagai colony, encroaching on about 1,500 dunums of land, according to reports from the Land Research Center.
