Israeli Colonists Vandalize Palestinian Farmland Near Jerusalem

Jerusalem: Israeli colonists on Tuesday evening vandalized Palestinians' farmland near the al-Mintar Bedouin community, southeast of the occupied West Bank city of Jerusalem. The incident involved colonists squatting on and ploughing Palestinian farmers' lands near the community.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the vandals originated from the nearby colonial outpost of Boaz, which is notorious for frequent attacks against Palestinian civilians and their properties. Such acts of violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property are a routine occurrence in the West Bank and are seldom prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

The violence perpetrated by colonists includes a range of destructive actions such as property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes. This ongoing aggression has exacerbated tensions in the region.

Currently, approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Their presence is considered a violation of international law, further complicating the peace process and exacerbating the plight of the Palestinian people.
