Israeli Colonists Cut Down Hundreds of Olive and Almond Trees in Hebron-Area Village

Hebron: Israeli colonists cut down more than 200 olive trees and over 100 almond trees in the town of Sa’ir, northeast of Hebron. Issa Muhammad Shalalda, a local civilian, reported the incident to a WAFA correspondent, stating that a group of Israeli colonists from the illegal colonies of Asfar and Kodufim, situated on the town’s lands, used electric saws to cut down the trees in the Umm al-Batm area of Wadi Sa’ir. These trees belonged to Issa and his brother, Izzat.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, this attack is part of a series of ongoing actions aimed at displacing residents from their lands to facilitate colonial expansion. Last month, colonists from the same two colonies set fire to dozens of dunams of land planted with grapevines, olives, and almond trees, further escalating tensions in the region.
