Jerusalem: Israeli authorities have issued a demolition order targeting the home of a Palestinian resident in Silwan, located south of Al-Aqsa Mosque. The action was taken by the Israeli occupation municipality, which announced the demolition order on Monday.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate revealed that the order pertains to the home of Muhammad Omar Samreen in Silwan. The municipality had previously delivered a demolition order to Samreen, giving him just 21 days to self-demolish the property. The house, which consists of two rooms, has already been penalized with a fine of 24,000 shekels (approximately $1,000). This fine was imposed despite Samreen's ongoing efforts over the years to obtain a building permit.
