Israeli Airstrikes in Southern Gaza Strip Result in Numerous Palestinian Casualties.

Gaza: A series of Israeli airstrikes on the al-Mawasi area in the southern Gaza Strip Thursday evening resulted in the deaths of several Palestinian civilians and injuries to others, according to local sources. They reported that Israeli fighter jets targeted the area, which houses displaced people, leading to the loss of several lives.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the airstrikes also included an attack on the western area of the Mashrou’ Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip. Additionally, Israeli forces blew up several residential buildings in the Jabalia refugee camp. These actions are part of Israel’s continued military offensive in the region, which persists despite an International Court of Justice (ICJ) order to halt operations in Rafah, citing potential violations of the Genocide Convention.

Since the conflict escalated on October 7, Israel’s military actions have resulted in the deaths of at least 44,056 Palestinians, with 104,268 others injured. The ongoing aggression
has also left at least 10,000 individuals unaccounted for, presumed dead beneath the rubble of their homes throughout the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations have highlighted that women and children constitute the majority of those killed and injured. Furthermore, nearly two million people have been forcibly displaced from across the Gaza Strip, with most seeking refuge in the densely populated southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border. This situation marks the largest mass displacement of Palestinians since the 1948 Nakba.
