JERUSALEM: A detailed report released by the Public Relations and Media Unit in the Jerusalem Governorate has highlighted a series of incidents and violations attributed to Israeli forces and settlers in the Jerusalem Governorate throughout the month of October 2024. The report documents a range of actions, including the deaths of two individuals, numerous arrests, and extensive incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the report reveals that two individuals, including a 12-year-old child named Hatem Ghaith and a 40-year-old man named Sami Al-Amoudi, were killed during this period. Furthermore, the body of Sami Al-Amoudi remains detained by Israeli authorities, contributing to a total of 44 Jerusalemite bodies held by occupation forces. The report also highlights the targeting of national figures, including the continued legal pursuit of Adnan Ghaith, the Governor of Jerusalem, and threats against Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, a key religious leader. The report d etails 32 recorded settler attacks, coinciding with Jewish holiday celebrations, and records 25 injuries resulting from the use of force by Israeli occupation forces. Additionally, the report notes the significant number of individuals-10,149 settlers-who entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the guise of "tourism," representing the highest number of such incursions since the start of the year. The document further outlines 143 arrests made in October, which included children and women, and describes judicial actions taken by Israeli courts, such as prison sentences and house arrest orders. Demolition activities are also highlighted, with 15 incidents recorded, including forced self-demolitions and demolitions conducted by Israeli authorities. The report emphasizes the challenges faced by Jerusalemites, including the tightening of restrictions on their daily lives, the imposition of fines, and the closure of businesses. It also covers actions against educational institutions, journalists, and UNRWA facilities, a longside settlement expansion projects approved by the Israeli government. These actions are seen as part of broader efforts to alter the demographic and cultural landscape of Jerusalem.
