Gaza: The Israeli occupation authorities announced the seizure of 744 dunams of Palestinian land in the villages of Al-Mughayir and Jaba'it, northeast of Ramallah. The declaration was made under the pretext of categorizing the land as "state land," as reported by the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the newly seized area includes the site of the Malakhi HaShalom outpost. This outpost, an illegal colonial establishment, was set up in 2015 on lands belonging to Al-Mughayir village. The commission noted that this land grab is part of an ongoing effort to 'legalize' and expand existing outposts, particularly Malakhi HaShalom. The far-right Israeli government had announced plans to legalize this outpost two years ago, as part of a broader strategy for colony expansion in the region.
The commission further reported that with this latest land seizure, the total area classified as 'state land' since the formation of the current Israeli government in early 2023 has reached 25,824 dunams. This expansive land appropriation encompasses 12 separate land confiscation orders.
