RAMALLAH: The Commission Of Detainees and for Ex-Detainees' Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said today that the Israeli occupation forces have detained 6,025 Palestinians from the West Bank since the seventh of last October. The two organizations said in a statement that this toll includes those who were detained from homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender under pressure, and those who were held hostage. They pointed out that the occupation forces continue to carry out widespread incursions during arrest campaigns in cities, towns and camps, accompanied by widespread abuse, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to widespread sabotage and destruction of citizens' homes, premeditated killings, and confiscation of vehicles and money, in addition to widespread damage operations affecting infrastructure. The statement explained that the ongoing and escalating arrest campaigns in an unprecedented manner come within the framework of the comprehensive aggression against Palestinian people and the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which targeted all groups. The occupation forces arrested at least 45 citizens from the West Bank, including two women, two children, and former prisoners, from yesterday evening until this morning, in addition to arresting a number of Gaza workers from the town of Azzun in Qalqilya Governorate.
