RAMALLAH: The Supreme Fatwa Council in Palestine warned of the consequences of the Israeli authorities' decision to prevent Palestinians from the West Bank, Jerusalem and the 1948 territories from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, to perform religious rituals during the holy month of Ramadan, in submission to right-wing extremist pressure. The Fatwa Council explained in a statement issued today that Al-Aqsa Mosque is currently going through a painful and dangerous reality, calling for this decision to be taken seriously, as the danger is imminent, the aggression is fierce, and the arrogance is raging, and this decision, which was taken from the highest political levels, exposes the policy of the occupation authorities in imposing a fait accompli on Al-Aqsa Mosque. It added that the decision aims to empty the Al-Aqsa Mosque of Muslim worshippers, in implementation of the plan to Judaize it, and build their alleged temple, noting that it represents an extension of the comprehensive war waged by the occupation forces a gainst everything that is Palestinian, and to impose a Judaizing fait accompli on Palestinian land, saying that continuing silence about this aggression portends severe and difficult disasters, calling on the greedy and those searching for a false history to wake up from their nightmares. The Council called on the Arab and Islamic peoples and their leaders to intervene to stop the increasing attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and on the Palestinian people, especially in light of the dangers reached by the attacks of the occupation authorities and colonialists against the Palestinian people, their sanctities, their land, and their humanity, which lead to the declaration of a ferocious religious war, the consequences of which are unimaginable, and fall within the framework of enforcing control overAl-Aqsa Mosque. It held the occupation authorities accountable for the consequences of these hateful decisions that increase hatred and malice in the region and fueling conflict there. The Council urged everyone who can rea ch Al-Aqsa Mosque to travel to it and protect it, as Al-Aqsa Mosque is an Islamic endowment for Muslims of the entire world, hoping that 'they will not hesitate to defend it with whatever capabilities they have.'
