The international organization "SAMENA" awarded the CEO of the Communications and Media Commission, Ali Al-Moayyad, the Leadership Award for Developing the Roadmap for Information and Communications Technology in Iraq. The award was given during an official ceremony held in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, in appreciation of the efforts of the Chairman of the Commission in developing the information and communications technology sector in Iraq, enhancing digital transformation in the country, and celebrating Al-Moayyad's efforts in leading digital transformation projects, encouraging innovation and leadership in the field of communications and information technology, which contributes to achieving sustainable development and enhancing the digital economy in Iraq. It is noteworthy that the SAMENA Communications Organization represents a regional industrial alliance representing communications and information technology companies in South Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. The organization aims to en hance cooperation among member companies and governments, develop a strong communications infrastructure, and support innovation in the field of information and communications technology. The organization also plays a pivotal role in developing policies and strategies that contribute to enhancing digital transformation in the region. This is the second time that the Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission has received an international award, as he won the 2023 Leadership Award in 'Digital Inclusion', on the sidelines of the Leadership and Excellence Awards ceremony held in the United Arab Emirates. It is noteworthy that the Communications and Media Commission has adopted many practical steps in the field of digital transformation, most notably proceeding with the procedures for completing the white paper on the development of information and communications technology in Iraq.
