The Iraqi Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Qahtaan Taha Khalaf, met with the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League. The meeting discussed a number of files of common interest, most notably the issue of the new annex building that Iraq donated to build for the benefit of the Arab League, where the need to expedite its completion and inauguration by Iraqi officials was emphasized. The meeting also included discussing a number of items on the agenda of the Council of the Arab League in the next ministerial meeting. In addition, views were exchanged on the file of reforming and developing the Arab League, and the mechanism of work of the third team concerned with economic and social reform, which Iraq chairs. At the end of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of working to strengthen Arab unity and develop Arab relations in a way that serves common interests.
