The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, and his accompanying delegation held a meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Kuwaiti Minister of Interior, Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, in the presence of a number of Kuwaiti leaders and officers. The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement, "The meeting discussed ways to strengthen security relations, expand the horizons of cooperation and coordination between the two countries, and activate the memorandum of understanding and security cooperation between the Kuwaiti and Iraqi sides, especially in the field of exchanging information and expertise in order to achieve security and stability for both countries." The statement added: 'During the meeting, a number of topics were discussed related to aspects of training, combating narcotics and psychotropic substances, securing the common border between Iraq and Kuwait, entry visa, facilitating and simplifying procedures in this field, and the mechanism for granting them.
