Baghdad, Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, discussed with French Ambassador Patrick Durel, today, Saturday, the possibility of concluding a security memorandum of understanding between the ministries of the interior of the two countries. A statement by the Ministry of Interior stated that Al-Shammari met in his office, today, Saturday, with the French ambassador, who congratulated his guest on assuming his position as ambassador to Iraq, and during the meeting, relations between the two countries and ways to develop them were discussed. According to the statement, the Minister thanked the French Embassy for the support it provides to the departments of the Ministry of Interior in terms of training, capacity building and cooperation in the field of combating drugs and forensic evidence. According to the statement, the two sides discussed the possibility of concluding a security memorandum of understanding between the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and its French counterpart during the coming period in a way that serves common interests.
