Iraq achieves 471 billion dinars in customs revenues during the first quarter of the current year

Baghdad, The General Authority for Customs announced its revenues during the first quarter of this year, which came as a result of follow-up in completing customs work in the best possible way and simplifying procedures that reflect the importance and long history of this institution. Hassan Al-Akili, advisor to the Ministry of Finance, said in a statement: 'The exceptional efforts made by the customs authority employees at all border crossings, airports and ports have contributed greatly to increasing the percentage of revenues, in addition to the application of electronic systems that have developed the customs work as well as the accuracy and speed of completion, especially the application of an automation system and updating customs (Asykoda). He added that the Authority achieved revenues during the first quarter of the current year that had not been achieved in (10) years, amounting to more than (471) billion dinars, an increase amounting to (257,470,313,524) dinars for the same period of the previous year (2023), where it was achieved revenue growth rate of (120%). The authority confirmed that imposing its customs authority at all land, sea and air border crossings is based in all of this on the law, and its procedures will target the corrupt and evaders and those who help them to violate the provisions of the applicable customs law.
