Director General of the Information Technology Department of the Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, Mehran Farshid, announced that about two and a half million Iranian pilgrims have left the land and air borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Iraqi territory until Wednesday to participate in the Arbaeen Visit this year. According to the IRNA, the latest statistics issued by official sources, said that 5,000 transport vehicles loaded with various tools and equipment used in Husseini processions have left Iran until Wednesday. In the same context, statistics indicate that about 3,000 Iranian processions will serve the Arbaeen pilgrims this year. More than 535 Husseini processions have started their activities since the beginning of Safar 1446 AH to serve pilgrims in Iran and Iraq. According to the same reports, the number of Iranian processions have been increasing with the increase in the number of pilgrims participating in the Arbaeen Visit.
