Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani described Iranian-Iraqi relations as excellent and unique. Kanaani pointed out in his weekly press conference, today, Monday, that the Iranian president's visit to Iraq on his first foreign visit is evidence of the depth of Iranian-Iraqi relations and efforts to strengthen them. The Iranian official said: "On the security level, both countries are working to establish security along the common border, and within the framework of signing the security agreement, cooperation between the two countries will continue." Regarding the war in Ukraine, Kanaani explained that Iran has a clear position on the developments in Ukraine, and it is unfortunate that some parties accuse Iran of escalating the war there, noting that Tehran is not part of the war in Ukraine and we believe in a political solution to end the war. Kanaani pointed out that the Iranian president will participate in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York as usual. It is no teworthy that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will begin his visit to Iraq the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, in his first foreign visit since assuming office at the end of last July.
