The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security arrested (11) wanted persons on charges of treading with antiquities, drugs, weapons, forgery and money laundering in various governorates. The Directorate stated in a statement that: "With accurate field follow-up, the detachments of Babylon Intelligence and Security Directorate were able to arrest one of the antiquities dealers and smugglers, and seized in his possession ancient money that he intended to sell in the governorate, where legal measures were taken against him and he was referred to the competent authorities, while the detachments of the Directorate arrested one of the drug dealers and promoters red-handed, and in his possession was a quantity of crystal narcotic substance and tools for use in Babylon Governorate." It added: "In the same context and with a high-level intelligence effort, the detachments of Diwaniyah Intelligence and Security Directorate arrested five wanted persons on charges of drug and weapons trafficking and forgery, wit h judicial warrants issued against them in accordance with the provisions of Articles (28 Drugs, 24 Weapons, 295 Forgery), and they were handed over to the relevant authorities in accordance with the law. The detachments of Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate also arrested four wanted persons on charges of kidnapping, money laundering and currency counterfeiting, in various areas of the capital after arrest warrants were issued against them.
