Intaj lauds gov’t move to exempt service exports profits

The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj) praised the Cabinet's decision to amend the income tax exemption bylaw for the year 2024, adding that the decision will enhance competitiveness of national companies. In a statement Sunday, Intaj noted the decision represents an "important" step in supporting the digital economy, which enhances Jordan's position as a "major" destination for exporting technical services. Intaj expressed its thanks to the government's economic team for its efforts in enhancing competitiveness of Jordanian companies, noting that the decision will attract further investments to Jordan. Furthermore, Intaj noted exempting profits of service exports, primarily information technology, legal and engineering consulting sectors, would contribute to improve companies' capability to compete in global markets. Intaj stated the amended system will enable companies to enhance their export capabilities and provide high-quality services, which opens up new horizons for growth. The association indicated that decision to exempt export profits helps companies invest additional resources to develop their products. Intaj stressed that this the move reflects the government's commitment to create a business environment that supports investment, enhance Jordan's attractiveness as a regional center for international arbitration and digital services, and contribute to provide job opportunities for Jordanian youth.
