Ibb governor , Abdulrahman Al-Zakri, reviewed on Wednesday the emergency work progress to address the damage caused by the torrential rains to citizens' houses in Watan residential neighborhood in Al-Sadda district. During the visit, he pointed out the importance of intervening to build a retaining wall to protect dozens of houses from floods, other emergency treatments and interventions that can be implemented to minimize the damage caused by floods to houses and agricultural lands. The director of the directorate, Mohammed Al-Darwani, explained that these works come as part of emergency interventions and treatments to reduce the damage of floods , rains, protect citizens and their property, stressing that the construction of the retaining wall for Watan neighborhood will be implemented when the rainy season ends. The director of the directorate's works office, Engineer Ali Nasr, said that the efforts of the emergency team tasked with addressing the flood damage caused by the heavy rains contributed to th e implementation of treatments for the damage in front of citizens' houses in the Watan neighborhood. He pointed out that the office's teams carried out work to open a number of roads , streets, drain water, fill potholes, and make emergency treatments to facilitate the vehicles' passage and prevent the expansion of damage. Nasr explained that the work aimed, with the participation of a number of equipment and mechanisms, to lift rocks and remove obstacles, barriers and collapses caused by rainwater and torrents flowing in a number of roads, especially Yarim-Sada highway, the Masqa line, the Maqalah line, and the main street in the directorate leading to Al-Nadra and Dmit.
