Injuries among displaced Gazans trying to return north amid humanitarian pause

A number of Palestinian civilians sustained injuries this morning when Israeli occupation forces opened fire on them while they were trying to return to their homes in northern Gaza, after a 4-day humanitarian pause entered into force at 7 pm local time. Eyewitnesses reported that at least seven civilians were wounded as the Israeli forces targeted them with gunfire south of Gaza City, while they were trying to return to their homes in the northern areas of the Gaza Strip. The 4-day humanitarian pause, subject to extension, will include the release of as many as 150 female and child detainees from Israeli occupation prisons. It also involves the delivery of badly needed humanitarian aid and fuel supplies into the besieged territory. In the hours leading up to the ceasefire, the Israeli occupation forces intensified their airstrikes in the northern, central, and southern regions of Gaza.
