The Secretary General of the Local Council in Al-Mahwit Province, Dr. Ali Al-Zikm, launched on Sunday the 18th phase of the unconditional cash transfer project for beneficiaries of the Social Welfare Fund, funded by the World Bank through UNICEF and the Social Fund for Development (SFD). At the inauguration, in the presence of the province deputy Hussein Arkad, Al-Zikm listened to an explanation from the director of the Social Welfare Fund Abdulaziz Shamlan about the disbursement process for the 37,203 beneficiaries distributed in 91 disbursement centers in various districts of the province , the amount of 860 million and 568 thousand riyals, an increase of 50 percent over the approved amount. The Secretary-General praised the mechanism of implementing the regular disbursement of social welfare benefits to alleviate the suffering of beneficiaries due to the repercussions of the aggression and blockade. For his part, the assistant supervisor of the cash transfer program in the province, Jalal Dabwan, expla ined that many measures have been taken to enable beneficiaries to receive their dues with ease, while adopting the mechanism of automatic disbursement for beneficiaries with special needs, in addition to mobile disbursement to districts' centers and villages.
