BETHLEHEM: In an apparent step for takeover, Israeli colonists this evening broke into an archaeological and historical site in the town of Jannatah to the east of Bethlehem, and carried out restoration work there, said a local official. Mayor of Jannatah, Sami al-Zir, told WAFA correspondent that colonists stormed a water spring located on municipal property and proceeded with restoration work in an apparent step to taking over the site, which would consequently lead to the seizure of hundreds of dunums of surrounding Palestinian land, he warned.
