Makkah: Pilgrims of the Holy Mosque are performing the rituals of Hajj for the year 1446 AH, with the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia providing an integrated framework of services. These services support the pilgrims from their arrival in the Holy Land, through their pilgrimage rituals, until their departure.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the services offered during this Hajj season reflect a synergy between technology and human efforts to enhance the experience of the Guests of Allah. The government has allocated advanced hospitals and health facilities, equipped with necessary technologies and medical equipment, to ensure the highest level of care for the pilgrims. Notable facilities include Mount Mercy Hospital and the Field Medical Services Hospital in Arafat, and several hospitals in Mina, all prepared to deliver immediate healthcare.
The healthcare services are bolstered by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority's air ambulance service, involving 11 helicopters, ensuring rapid medical response. The National Unified Procurement Company for Medical Supplies coordinates the supply chain, ensuring the availability of medical supplies across over 136 health facilities.
The Ministry of Health has also launched digital initiatives like the virtual hospital 'Seha', providing a range of digital health services. Security measures are in place with the Hajj Security Forces and support from an advanced aviation system, ensuring the safety of pilgrims. The SMART Makkah Operations Center aids in crowd management, utilizing high-resolution satellite imagery and real-time data analysis.
Transport services are facilitated by the Mashair Train, designed to efficiently transport pilgrims between the holy sites. The train system reduces congestion and carbon emissions, providing a sustainable transport option. Water services are ensured by the National Water Company, with significant infrastructure improvements to support the needs of pilgrims.
The government has launched projects to enhance comfort and safety, such as the 'Heat Stress Mitigation Project' and the 'Mashair Pathway' project. Accommodation upgrades include the implementation of two-story tent projects and the expansion of facilities at Arafat.
Communication services have been improved with upgrades to 5G and 4G networks, ensuring seamless connectivity. The Saudi Project for the Utilization of Hady and Adahi has also completed its preparations, operating within a system that combines religious compliance with operational efficiency.
Religious guidance is provided by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs through awareness booths and a toll-free hotline for inquiries. The 'Smart Manasik Guide' initiative offers digital resources to aid pilgrims in understanding Hajj rituals. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has prepared enrichment programs, including translated sermons and educational programs to enhance the pilgrims' experience.
