A gunman was captured by Lebanese soldiers after attempting to attack the US Embassy near Beirut on Wednesday, Lebanese military said. In a statement issued on X platform, the Lebanese army said that the soldiers shot an assailant, who they only described as a Syrian national, and he was wounded and taken to a hospital. For its part, US Embassy said the morning attack by the embassy's entrance did not cause any casualties among their staff, and that Lebanese troops and embassy security mobilized quickly. It also added that an investigation was underway to further secure the area around the embassy. Source: Kuwait News Agency
