Washington - Ma'an - Gold prices rose in trading on Monday and reached a new historical peak with the decline of the dollar index. In morning trading, futures for the precious metal rose 0.12% to $2,616.1 per ounce, the highest level in the history of trading for the metal. Spot contracts also rose 0.17% to $2,582.04 per ounce, according to trading.
