Amman: President of the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions (GFJTU), Khaled Fanatseh, said Jordan's position, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, is "firm and clear" towards the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip. Fanatseh noted Jordan made "remarkable" efforts at all levels to reach ceasefire, end genocide in Gaza, open all crossings to deliver aid without obstacles, warn against plans to separate West Bank from Gaza, and confront dangers of Palestinians' displacement. According to a GFJTU statement issued Saturday, Fanatseh's remarks came during his speech at a session devoted to discuss the report of the Director-General of the International Labor Organization, Gilbert Houngbo, on the conditions of Palestine workers within International Labor Conference. Fanatseh continued: "The Palestinian cause is also a humanitarian issue that requires our solidarity, as Palestinians suffer from occupation and oppression, live under difficult conditions, and are exposed to daily violence and persecution, whic h requires our support in their struggle for freedom and justice." Additionally, he said Jordanian leadership and people continue to empower the Palestinian people and support their steadfastness on their land. Noting Jordan's official and popular efforts to support Gaza people in all possible ways, he referred to its continued efforts to end the war, which contributed to change in the global position towards Israel's actions. He also called on the international community and human rights organizations to work "seriously" to end the occupation and violations against Palestinian people and work to establish an independent Palestinian state.
