The German Embassy in Amman hosted a reception on Sunday evening to celebrate the National Day of the Federal Republic of Germany, attended by several diplomats and distinguished guests. Minister of Youth, Yazan Shdeifat, who represented the Jordanian government at the event, emphasized the deep historical ties between Jordan and Germany since the establishment of diplomatic relations. He highlighted the close cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including economic, technological, educational, and youth sectors, as well as their shared stances on international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause. Shdeifat reiterated Jordan's unwavering position on the Palestinian issue, as articulated by His Majesty King Abdullah II in his recent speech at the United Nations General Assembly, where the King called for an end to Palestinian suffering and the cessation of Israeli violations. German Ambassador to Jordan, Bertram von Moltke, also addressed the gathering, underscoring Germany's long- standing commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region. "In order to achieve a just and lasting peace, those in power must draw the right conclusions that both Palestinians and Israelis deserve. This is why Germany has been committed to a negotiated two-state solution for many years," the ambassador stated. Source: Jordan News Agency
