Doha: The General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security of the Ministry of Interior carried out a joint exercise on Wednesday with the British Royal Marines in the field of maritime security. The exercise included procedures for ships' visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS); training on applying provisions for organizing and coordinating security teams; inspection and securing ships, methods of dealing with smugglers and law violators, and other maritime tasks. Director-General of Coast and Border Security Major General Nasser Jabr Al Nuaimi praised the advanced level of tactics used, the efforts made to enhance cooperation between the two sides, and the transfer and exchange of expertise in the field of maritime security. In turn, HE Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Qatar Neerav Patel praised the joint exercise and the participants' level of performance, stressing the need for continued cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two sides.
