Paris: France condemned on Tuesday the growing violence committed by Israeli colonists against the Palestinian population throughout the occupied West Bank, especially in Masafer Yatta and Susya. The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged in a press statement the Israeli occupation authorities to punish the perpetrators of such acts of violence, committed with complete impunity, and protect Palestinian civilians.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry reiterated France's condemnation of Israeli colonist construction, which is contrary to international law. It cited the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion, which found that Israel's decades-long occupation of the Palestinian territories was "unlawful", and that its "near-complete separation" of people in the occupied West Bank breached international laws concerning "racial segregation" and "apartheid."
The statement referred to the need to impose sanctions against the extremist colonists involved in acts of violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank.
