France Condemns Israeli Annexation Attempts in West Bank and Gaza

Paris: French Foreign Ministry spokesman Christophe Lemoine stated today that France strongly condemns any Israeli attempt to annex the occupied West Bank or the Gaza Strip. This declaration was made during a press conference in Paris, responding to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's comments about occupying the West Bank if France recognized the State of Palestine.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Lemoine reiterated France's longstanding stance on the Palestinian territories, emphasizing that the nation has consistently condemned all forms of colonization and annexation attempts. Paris remains firmly opposed to any moves to annex the West Bank or Gaza.

Lemoine also addressed the dire humanitarian situation in the region. Referring to the large crowds of hungry Palestinians at an aid distribution center in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, he pointed out that these scenes highlight the insufficiency of humanitarian aid in the region. The French official stressed the need to allow unrestricted and substantial humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, which remains under Israeli blockade.
