The founding meeting of the General Assembly of the General Union for Picking Stakes was held in Sana'a. At the meeting, an administrative body consisting of 11 members was elected, headed by the Assistant Undersecretary of Youth for the Sports Sector Ministry, Dr. Kamal Al-Sharif, Haitham Al-Kharashi as deputy, Abdul Khaleq Hussein as Secretary-General, and Dr. Kamal Al-Taweel as Assistant Secretary-General. During the meeting, which was attended by members of the Federation's General Assembly, representatives of horse sponsoring entities, and the representative of the Yemeni Olympic Committee, Jamal Al-Jabali, the statute of the General Federation of Stakes was approved. The meeting was considered the first nucleus for determining the future of the sport of peg-picking and developing it, and enhancing membership in the International Federation of the Game. He pointed out the responsibility placed on the Federation's administrative body in developing executive plans , programmes, organizing tournaments, competitions and various training courses in a way that contributes to the advancement of the Yemeni sport of pick-up.
