Former officials of coop. societies referred to prosecution — Min.

KUWAIT, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Amthal Al-Huwaila has referred some expatriates and former members of Abdullah Al-Mubarak and Jahra Cooperative Societies' boards of directors to public prosecution. The step came within the framework of measures taken to combat corruption, Al-Huwaila, also Minister of State for Youth Affairs, wrote on her X account on Tuesday. It also aimed at protecting public funds, and shareholders' rights, in implementation of the political leadership's directives to combat corruption, she added. The minister affirmed continuation of applying the law, elaborating that joint action to combat corruption is a key basis for transparency and integrity. Source: Kuwait News Agency
