Amman: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the decision of the Republic of Armenia to recognize the Palestinian state, as an important step reflecting Armenia's compliance with the rules of international law and the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy. Ambassador Sufian Qudah, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, expressed the Kingdom's gratitude for Armenia's decision and its support for the Palestinian people's right to freedom and an independent state on June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution. In an effort to ensure a return to a path that leads to a just and comprehensive peace, upholds the rights of the Palestinian people, and fosters security, stability, and peace in the region, Qudah reiterated his calls for the international community to act quickly to recognize the state of Palestine and for the Security Council to take up its duties and impose a resolution recognizing an independent Palestinian stat e in accordance with international law and the pertinent resolutions of international legitimacy.
