The Jordanian News Agency announced today, Monday, the emergence of laboratory results confirming the registration of a case of monkeypox infection for a non-Jordanian person residing in Jordan. The Agency said that "the infected person is a 33-year-old male, who showed symptoms of infection in the form of pimples (skin rash), and is currently in isolation in Al-Bashir Hospitals, and was diagnosed by a (PCR) test in the Ministry of Health laboratories, and his health condition is stable." It added that "the Ministry of Health confirmed its continued follow-up of monkeypox and the announcement with complete transparency of any cases that are detected," noting "its readiness and ability to deal with any development of the disease according to the national plan prepared in advance to deal with the disease in partnership with the relevant authorities." It added, "This is not the first case that Jordan has dealt with. A case was recorded on 9/8/2022, and routine procedures were followed in such cases, which wer e sufficient to prevent the spread of infection and the patient's recovery without any complications.
