The Yemeni Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Organization concluded a field campaign to control weighing and measuring instruments in Dhamar province. The Yemeni Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority said in a statement issued that this campaign comes as a continuation of the field campaigns carried out by the Authority to control weighing and measuring tools in various provinces with the aim of protecting consumers from fraud , misuse of kilograms, weights and measurements in order to ensure the rights of all parties to commercial transactions. The communiqué pointed out that the campaign includes awareness and control aspects and field visits followed by taking legal measures against those who manipulate measuring and weighing tools to ensure the protection of society from fraud and manipulation. The Authority's branch in Dhamar province Director , Dr. Yahya Al-Dubai, confirmed that during the campaign, many measuring tools and violating blocks were seized, including Abu Hour spring scales, and the necessary legal measures will be taken against them. He called on citizens to deal with scales calibrated by the Authority or to check when buying that the scales have a calibration label on them. Source: Yemen News Agency
