Fatah Condemns Israeli Law Allowing Execution of Palestinian Prisoners as Legalizing Killing Policies

Jerusalem: The Fatah movement has expressed strong condemnation of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, following its approval of a law that permits the execution of Palestinian prisoners. Fatah argues that this law effectively legislates policies of killing and blatantly violates international law.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Fatah's Commission of Information, Culture and Intellectual Mobilization released a statement on Monday asserting that the law contravenes the Fourth Geneva Convention and numerous other international treaties and conventions. The movement claims that the law includes racist and fascist provisions, which essentially legalize actions that Palestinian prisoners have reportedly endured in Israeli prisons, such as killing, medical neglect, torture, and abuse.

The statement from Fatah further criticized the bill, introduced by a far-right Israeli minister who has been described internationally as 'fascist.' The movement contends that this reflects the occupation system's attempts to carry out genocidal plans against the Palestinian population. The legislation specifically targeting Palestinian prisoners is seen by Fatah as the height of racism, criminality, and terrorism within the Israeli political landscape and among its officials.

Fatah also emphasized that the law underscores the intent of Israeli authorities to exacerbate tensions by continuing to violate international law. The movement called for decisive international action to curb what it described as a colonial system led by extremist settlers.
