Gaza city: Several Palestinians were killed and others wounded Monday morning in an Israeli airstrike southeast of Gaza City. Medical sources reported that at least three Palestinians were killed and others, some critically, were wounded when Israeli warplanes targeted a group of civilians near the Al-Shafi'i Mosque in the Zeitoun neighborhood south of Gaza City. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip has risen to 72,278, with 172,013 wounded, since the start of the offensive on October 7, 2023. The bodies of 10 slain Palestinians and 18 injuries arrived at hospitals across the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours. The number of fatalities since the ceasefire on October 11 has surged to 705, with more than 1,913 injuries reported. The bodies of 756 Palestinians have been retrieved over the same period. Thousands of victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings or on the streets. However, emergency responders are struggling to reach them due to a lack of essential equipment for debris removal and rescue operations.
