Jenin: Colonists Saturday evening uprooted olive trees belonging to Palestinian residents in Khirbet Masoud village, southwest of Jenin, according to local sources.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli bulldozers uprooted several olive trees in Khirbet Masoud to pave colonial roads leading to an illegal colonial outpost established in the area since 2019. This marks a continuation of land leveling activities by the occupation forces, who have been targeting olive groves owned by citizens from Zibda and Khirbet Masoud areas. Despite the owners holding official ownership documents, the occupation army marked these groves with orange paint as a prelude to further land expropriation.
Khirbet Masoud is under the jurisdiction of the Zibda Village Council and consists of three communities with approximately 350 inhabitants. The ongoing leveling activities adjacent to the illegal colonial outpost on the mountain have resulted in the seizure of dozens of dunums of agricultural land, exacerbating tensions in the region.
The actions undertaken by the colonists and the occupation forces have raised concerns among local residents and have drawn attention to the ongoing challenges faced by Palestinians in maintaining their land and livelihood in the face of expanding colonial settlements.
