Executive Committee of PLO condemns Israel’s ongoing massacres against Gaza, escalations in West Bank

RAMALLAH: The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) held a meeting tonight in Ramallah, where they condemned the massacres carried out by Israel as part of its ongoing genocide campaign against the Gaza Strip and its escalations in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. The Committee held the occupation state, along with the American administration fully responsible for the genocide and escalations, affirming the continued struggle and resistance of the Palestinian people to achieve freedom and independence and obtain all their rights, including refugees' right of return, the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital, led by the Palestine Liberation Organization; the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. The committee also discussed the solidarity campaign with the prisoners' movement, affirming the continuation of work with prisoners' institutions to protect prisoners and detainee s from the policies of abuse, torture, isolation, killing and deliberate medical neglect carried out by the occupation. It emphasized the need to intensify Arab and international solidarity efforts and contacts with the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the UN Security Council, the Human Rights Council, the International Criminal Court and all international human rights and humanitarian institutions to live up to their positions to face the crimes carried out against the Palestinian people, including prisoners. The Committee stressed the necessity to impose a boycott on the occupation, expedite the mechanisms for its prosecution, especially before the International Criminal Court (ICC), and speed up the issuance of arrest warrants against those responsible for these crimes. The Executive Committee welcomed China's invitation to all Palestinian factions to hold a meeting in Beijing aimed at ending the division and achieving Palestinian national unity, and at strengthening the resil ience and resistance of the Palestinians throughout the occupied Palestinian Territory. The Committee emphasized China's role in supporting the Palestinian people's cause and rights to end the occupation and colonialism and to establish an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
