The Criminal Court of Najaf issued today, Monday, a death sentence by hanging against a wife who killed her husband in one of the province's regions.
The Supreme Judicial Council stated in a statement, "The Najaf Criminal Court issued its verdict against a wife who killed her husband by burning with oil with the help of her daughter and her co-wives, then buried him inside the house in the northern Najaf governorate."
It stated, "The decision was issued based on the provisions of Article 406 of the amended Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969."
